Last week, the final public hearing on on Surestream Petroleum‘s proposed surveying for the exploration of oil in Lake Malawi. The public hearings held across Malawi were organised by the Environmental Affairs Department (Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Management) to provide feedback on the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) carried out by RPS Group on proposed surveying activities.

The final public hearing was held in Blantyre at Mount Soche on Wednesday 29 January 2014. A group of people who are making their voice known through Lakegate uploaded an audio file of the question and answer session at this final public hearing.
