Dave Kienzler, Fulbright-Clinton Fellow based in Malawi’s Ministry of Mining, is working on oil exploration negotiation issues.

In Kienzler’s latest blog post, the impacts of seismic surveying in Lake Malawi are examined. He asks whether the noise pollution from this surveying technique will affect the fish population in the lake. This must be considered by companies that have been awarded prospecting licences for hydrocarbons in Lake Malawi and are currently conducting Environmental Impact Assessments.
